How Much Does AC Service Cost?
The cost of your AC repair or installation depends on many factors that are rarely, if ever, the same. Because we need to do an onsite assessment, we cannot provide quotes over the phone. Call us and we’ll get you scheduled to get a quote in the Bryan and Wauseon area.
How Often Should I Check My Air Filters?
You'd be amazed how many HVAC problems are caused by someone forgetting to change their air filter. If you use a 1-inch disposable filter, we suggest replacing those monthly. For people with a 4-inch media filter, two changes a year is often enough.
What is Hydro-jetting?
There are several ways to remove a pipe blockage. Hydro-jetting is one of them. During treatment, a plumber will run a long snake down your pipes. They’ll then blast high-pressured water through it to remove roots, grease masses, and hairballs. Because it uses no chemicals, this is one of the safer ways to kiss stubborn clogs goodbye.
What Can I Do to Prevent Clogged Pipes?
You can prevent clogged pipes by being careful about what you flush. Oils, hair, coffee grounds, pasta, and hard produce parts can quickly block a pipe. A cheap drain stopper/filter is the best way to curb the chances of a clog.
How Long Does Furnace Replacement Take?
A new furnace installation will take a skilled contractor between four and six hours. If you’re also replacing or installing an AC unit, the amount of time needed doubles. Most installations can be turned around the same day. If major rerouting of plumbing or electrical is required, this time frame can be extended to days or a week.
Why Is My Toilet Constantly Running?
The flapper—a rubber or plastic valve at the base of your toilet tank—is usually responsible for a running toilet. To see if this is the issue, take off the tank lid and adjust the float arm. The water should stop approximately an inch below the overflow pipe. If the refill water doesn’t reach this level, you need a new flapper.
How Can I Tell if I Have a Leak?
A lot of plumbing problems are easy to spot, but leaks have a tendency to go unnoticed. This is because they often start small and can go unnoticed for months or years. They can also hide under floors, above ceilings, and behind walls, making them more challenging to find. Here are a few signs you may have a leak:
- Rapidly climbing water bills
- Your water meter ticks even when you aren’t using water
- A musty smell or signs of mold become visible
- Discoloration and dampness occurs near tubs and toilets
- If you see any of these signs, don’t panic. Call RSM at (419) 330-4422 and schedule an appointment instead!
